Materials and care
Most FURLUMI pieces are sterling silver 925 with a 1.5 micron 18k gold vermeil finish. The three onyx Letter pieces use brass with a sterling silver post and 1 micron 18k gold plating. All freshwater pearls are AA–AAA grade.
Base metal: sterling silver, 925. Plating: 1.5 micron 18k gold vermeil — gold electroplated onto the sterling base under heat, two to three times thicker than the typical 0.5 micron gold plate used on most fast-fashion jewelry. Ear posts: sterling silver; material declaration available on request.
Heart on Shell, Moon Note, and Night Drop use a brass core with a sterling silver post, 1 micron 18k gold plating, and polished black onyx cabochons set by hand. The brass core gives the piece slightly more weight and allows the heavier onyx setting to sit flat. Each onyx is 6–8 mm depending on the design.
All pearls are freshwater, AA–AAA grade, sourced from Zhuji workshops in Zhejiang. Sizes 3–8 mm depending on the design; sizes are listed on every product page. Each batch is inspected for nacre thickness ≥ 0.4 mm, surface cleanness (max two minor blemishes per pearl at AA, max one at AAA), and luster grade. We retain batch documentation per shipment and can share photographs of the source-batch grading slip on request to support@furlumi.com — useful for resellers, wholesale buyers, or any customer who wants a paper trail for an heirloom-grade pearl. Pearls are natural and may vary slightly in surface and tone.
Wipe with a soft dry cloth after each wear. Avoid water, perfume, lotion, sweat, chlorine pools, and saltwater. Store each piece separately in the FURLUMI cotton pouch to prevent scratches. Do not sleep or shower in any piece.
Normal wear shows on plated pieces after 12–18 months of daily use. We offer re-plating at cost ($12–$18 per piece including return shipping). Email warranty@furlumi.com to start a re-plate.
